Introduction

In this section you specify parameters which will define the location and level of detail of your appraisal.

Based on your inputs here, and throughout the application, health impacts will be estimated comparing a "Reference" scenario (representing the situation "before" the implementation of your intervention, sometimes referred to as "no build" scenario) with a "Counterfactual" scenario (representing the situation "after" immplementation, or "built").

Throught the tool you can specify the "reference scenario" on the left, and the "counterfactual scenario" on the right.

By default, the tool shows "basic" options. You can choose to show "advanced" options in the panel to the right.

In the basic workflow you provide information on the "Volume of active travel", based on which the tool samples a counterfactual population, and assigns trips counterfactual, active modes. Health impacts are calculated as the difference between the counterfactual and the reference population. In the advanced workflow you can refine assumptions about the subjects and trips used for these calculations.

The tool suggests starting values based on the entire population in the LAD. These can be edited directly, or by using various adjustment features.
